Digital Communications Coordinator

CLASP seeks a digital communications professional who is eager to elevate their experience by joining our dynamic, international team. The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will revolve around multimedia storytelling, CMS management, and conceptualizing, creating, and managing digital content across CLASP platforms. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling, has worked with Content Management Systems (CMS), and is proficient in photography, videography, editing, and graphic design.

 

In this role, the Coordinator will contribute to meaningful multimedia projects and campaigns, shape the digital presence of CLASP, and play an integral role in our mission to enhance the energy efficiency of appliances and make a positive impact on global clean energy access. The Coordinator will also provide additional support to the CLASP international communications team. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the following tasks:

 

  1. Photography: Capture high-quality photos of CLASP projects and events and edit and caption them for quality and consistency with organization branding. 
  2. Videography: Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality, short videos for projects, campaigns, and events. Script and edit videos creatively, experimenting with various styles, effects, and transitions for engaging, vivid storytelling.
  3. Graphic Design: Develop creative designs for projects, campaigns, and events, including presentations, fact sheets, infographics, and motion-graphics.
  4. Content Creation: Develop creative web, newsletter, and social media content using photography, video, copy, and graphics to engage audiences. Support the management of CLASP social media channels by scheduling, posting, and monitoring content. 
  5. Publication Support: Contribute to the launch of various CLASP publications by assisting in the design and formatting of reports and other publications per brand guidelines, and social media toolkits.
  6. Content Management Systems: Support to the global communications team in creating, modifying, and migrating content on the CLASP website, our sub-brand sites, and our AV digital asset management system. Experience with WordPress CMS is an asset.
  7. Innovation: Stay updated on current and emerging digital trends and tools in photography, videography, and design. Propose ideas to improve digital storytelling and engagement. 
  8. Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks and day-to-day activities to ensure effectiveness. This includes developing and maintaining a digital assets database and contact databases.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1-3 years proven experience in digital media showcased in a portfolio.
  • Proven ability of telling stories in a variety of formats: web, video, photography, and social media.
  • Competent writer; must have the ability to write creatively and effectively to engage diverse audiences.
  • Good visual eye; must be able to reproduce CLASP brands across multimedia.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and complete assignments with minimal supervision in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Impeccable organization and attention to detail. You get satisfaction from producing polished work and managing smooth and orderly processes.

 

Compensation and Location

CLASP offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, including fully paid health insurance for individuals and their families/dependents, provident fund and includes a collegial office environment that supports wellness and flexible telecommuting options after a certain period of employment. The selected candidate is expected to work out of CLASP’s office in Nairobi. Early morning or evening hours are sometime necessary to accommodate international collaboration; some travel and weekend hours may also be required. We are an equal opportunity employer.
